NLN Conference 2001

Mikil vinna hefur farið fram hjá ýmsum aðilum á undanförnum árum við að þróa tölvukerfi til að hjálpa læknum við að ávísa lyfjum á sem bestan og öruggastan hátt. Það er því ánægjuefni að kynna hér ráðstefnu sem fram fer á vegum Norrænu lyfjanefndarinnar (NLN) um þessi mál 2.-3. apríl í Stokkhólmi:

NLN Conference 2001

Electronic Support Systems for Rational Prescribing of Medicines

Several computer-based tools for prescribing of medicines are being developed in the Nordic countries. The systems are intended to facilitate prescribing and contain information on products available, costs, interactions, adverse drug reactions etc. The Nordic Council on Medicines (NLN) is organising a conference on Electronic support systems for rational prescribing of medicines. The conference is intended to present an overview of systems available and to discuss the contents and benefits of such systems.

The conference will be held 2-3 April 2001 in Stockholm, Sweden, and is primarily intended for practitioners, authorities, the pharmaceutical industry and others interested in electronic support systems.

An overview of IT-systems available in the Nordic countries will be presented, as well as examples of ongoing systems in the Nordic countries, including show room demonstrations. A report from the United Kingdom will also be given. The information provided in the systems will be given space, such as rational therapy guidelines, health economy recommendations and medicines committees information. Quality improvements with statistics and feedback systems on prescribing will also be discussed.

Speakers at the conference are representing, for example, medicines authorities, social security institutes, universities, general practitioners, and the pharmaceutical industry.
